Our goal is to understand neural circuits underlying emotional behaviors and how they are perturbed in neuropsychiatric disease.

To this end we employ a combination of molecular, optogenetic, electrophysiological, and behavioral approaches.

We have extensive experience with a variety of optical techniques including fiber photometry and optogenetics, which allow us to study the endogenous and causal dynamics of genetically specified cells and circuits in vivo.
